What Do We Believe?

Generally speaking, we adhere to Protestant, Reformed beliefs. In short:

God

We believe in the Trinitarian God—three distinct persons, being the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, who make up the single divine deity who is our Creator.

Man

We believe man to be created in the image of God, but inherently prone to sin because of the fall described in Genesis 3. No person is exempt from inheriting this sinful nature.

Salvation

The only way to experience the grace of God is through Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who died for sinners on the cross that they might experience eternal life. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone in Jesus.

Scripture

We believe Scripture is the inspired and true Word of God, and is His primary chosen method of communication and revelation with believers in order to reveal His nature, convict the hearts of people, and equip the Church for ministry.

The Church

We believe that the Church is God's chosen vehicle for ministry and evangelism, and the foundation of community for followers of Him.

Everything Else

We believe that while there are truths that we can know for certain from Scripture and should be held to unwaveringly (such as those listed above), there are issues which may remain clouded until Christ's return. We call these issues "open-handed" and there are far too many to list here. While we certainly have our own interpretations that we hold for open-handed issues, we don't believe they are worth creating division within the body, especially where such division may inhibit the biblical imperative to share the gospel with anyone and everyone.

Our efforts to equip the church to pursue Christ toward a deeper faith, a stronger family, and an unshakeable purpose are not limited to be accessible only to those who agree with us on every finer theological point.
